The City of Gaithersburg Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture is seeking an organized and customer service focused recreation professional for the full-time position of Robertson Park Youth Center Facility Coordinator to manage and oversee the daily safe and efficient operation of the facility, its programs and activities. As the Facility Coordinator, you will ensure that middle-school-aged participants have a welcoming space to gather after school for recreational opportunities, social interaction, healthy physical activity, study groups, field trips, fun learning activities that align with the environmentally friendly features of the Youth Center (the City's first green municipal building), and various other activities.

The successful candidate will be a creative, resourceful, and enthusiastic individual with experience and understanding of facility and personnel management, financial operations, and community relations. Must have strong supervisory skills, be able to coordinate with internal and external customers, and work effectively with a diverse population. Taking initiative and ownership of a variety of responsibilities, exercising good judgment, and setting a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow are essential. You must be an effective communicator, computer savvy, able to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to changing needs and priorities, and work effectively independently and as part of the team. Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish preferred.

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; a core work schedule will be established upon hire. Some evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required to support operational needs.

Starting salary is negotiable within the target hiring range ($57,000 - $61,000) and will be offered at a level consistent with the relevant experience and qualifications of the candidate.
